A series of photographs of the twin high rise flats “The Gallowgate Twins” at 109 Bluevale Street and 51 Whitevale Street near the Gallowgate in the East End of Glasgow.
A dominant and iconic feature of the skyline in the East End of Glasgow since their construction in 1968, at 30 storeys these are the tallest inhabitable buildings in Scotland. They are second in height in Scotland only to the observation tower at Glasgow Science Centre, though they are now abandoned and are being prepared for demolition.
